A Low Cost Digital Camera for Your Office

by Craig Callen

I have taken pictures of my patients almost since I started in practice about a hundred years ago. I started out with a Polaroid Instant camera and worked my way up from there. I have expensive SLR digital cameras with twin flashes that can take some beautiful pictures. Unfortunately, they are heavy and complicated to use. My staff takes most of my pictures and it was really hit and miss whether or not I got a good set of pictures.

I started using a simple portable digital camera from Lester Dine about four or 5 years ago. It takes adequate pictures and is easy to use. The staff was fighting over this camera, so I decided to get another point and shoot camera. What I found after some research was an OLYMPUS STYLUS TG-4 16MP TOUGH digital camera. They sell them online for under $400. It worked so well and was so easy to use I bought another one.

What I like in addition to some great pictures, it has an easy to use video camera so that you can get those video testimonials that you have been wanting to get.

We post pictures on our Facebook site all the time and try to keep our website up-to-date. This is a great, low cost marketing tool. Buy a small piece of felt type material from the local fabric supply company for an easy background.
