As the acting president of APDP, I’m thrilled to introduce you to an organization that’s been supporting private dental practices for over six decades. Our journey began in 1957 in Chicago under the name American Association of Dental Practice Administrators. A group of forward-thinking dentists gathered with a shared vision: to discover the best ways to run a small dental business, provide top-notch care to patients, and positively impact their communities. Today, while dentistry has evolved, APDP remains true to its original mission – now with a name that better reflects who we are and what we stand for.

I was invited to my first Academy for Private Dental Practice meeting by my mentor, Dr. William Gregg. Dr. Gregg was my teacher at the Pankey Institute. At the time, I was inspired by the clinical and personal growth I was experiencing. I had just finished my last continuum and was looking for the next steps in my journey.
I loved my first meeting and found a supportive community. APDP is focused on business, leadership and culture. It is a unique organization in dentistry that supports private practice dentistry.
